How I Will Grow the Business in 2024

2023 is finally coming to an end.

It has been a crazy year in a lot of ways.

I moved into my first apartment (with a dedicated office), nailed down my YouTube process to push 1 video a week, and have been more disciplined in my work than ever before.

The channel is a few hundred subscribers short of 15K, a number that 6 months ago (when I was at 7K) would’ve seemed impossible to reach in that time frame.

I’m still trying to nail down exactly what my vision for it is, but this is something I plan to do for the next 10 years, easy.

I want to document the behind-the-scenes of growing my creator business and creating a life I love.

YouTube is my current focus, but I view it as the stepping stone to get into business, rather than the thing I’m dedicating the rest of my life to.

As I get into more projects, new businesses, etc, I want this newsletter to be the place I document it all.

Going into 2024, I plan to:

  • optimize my YouTube workflow

  • take my Instagram more seriously

  • document the journey better, sharing everything I’m learning

While I’ve managed to stay consistent, I’m often up past midnight in the hours before my video goes live, rushing to finish the final few edits and shoot an acceptable thumbnail.

I want to find a way to finish the videos quicker so that Saturday can become a day for new projects rather than scrambling to finish the weekly upload.

There’s value in “singular focus”, but I think that Instagram and YouTube tie in closely.

I believe putting time towards both will craft a better personal brand focused on lifestyle and help me grow quickly.

While the calendar year changes tomorrow, I’ve already been in the mindset of the new year.

One of the most impactful mindset shifts/habits I’ve adopted is always trying to decrease the time between plan and action.

I know what I need to do to make 2024 life-changing, so I’m not going to sit around and wait for someone to do it for me.

For the last action step of 2023, reflect on the past year and whether you achieved what you set out to in January.

If you did — great job. If not — find out what needs to change for the answer to be different 12 months from now.

Things I’ve been working on

I made a review on the Steam Deck OLED. Games look great on here, and the battery life is super solid. Cyberpunk at 40fps for 2 hours on the go is pretty wild.

Having a device like this does make it easier to play games while having such limited time to do so.

See you next year ;)
