The simplest productivity hack is to keep your promises.

Setting small, attainable goals will make you feel good and drive you to tackle your next important task.

Last week I slept in late, missed deadlines for my content, and didn’t follow my schedule on multiple days

What helps me during periods like this is to first accept that they’re going to happen, but then to get clarity on why

On the whiteboard in my office, I wrote down all of the bad habits I have right now and reflected in my journal for each one.

The common theme was that I was delaying the hard work I didn’t want to do.

Understand that this is short-term thinking.

You need to be terrified of the outcome this will lead to.

My favorite quote is from Toby Robbins, “change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change”.

Know what it is you desire, and think about how you would feel if you never got it.

If you don’t feel uncomfortable you need bigger goals.

To get ahead of 97% of people you need to have a constantly rising bar for acceptable work ethic.

What truly defines you is what you think and do when no one else is watching.

It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of you, good or bad, because you’re the person who knows the full truth.

If you said you’d get 8 reps don’t stop at 7. If you were going to read till 10:30 don’t put your book down at 10:24. For me, if you said you’d write the script today, you write the script today.

Stacking up these small wins gives you the momentum to conquer all of the habits keeping you from your goal.

For this week's action item, take 5 minutes and write down every bad habit you have. Then answer two questions:

  • why am I doing this thing?

  • what impact will this have on my long-term goals?

Things I’ve been working on

Coming from the 16” M1 Pro I’m really liking the small form factor of the 14”. This will make it a lot easier to work away from the desk. New video is up sharing my thoughts on it.

Not an Instagram-worthy photo (cable tray comes today I promise) but I’m building a dedicated gaming setup in the office. Have some items coming in this week that will make it look really good.

Thanks for reading. Kill it this week.
