Whenever I feel like I’m not making progress it’s because I’m forgetting what my priorities are.
Today I valued sleeping in late more than getting this letter and my video out at 8am.
In these times I like to step back, take any positives from the situation, and figure out my plan of action.
After rushing to edit my thumbnail I realized I didn’t like it and re-shot it. I’m much happier with it now and don’t think I would’ve cared as much had I woken up earlier.
Now, I find the below prompts helpful to remember where I’m going and the work that is required to get there. For this weeks action item, I recommend writing the answers to these questions out.
What life do I desire?
Be clear on the outcome you’re striving towards.
What does a good day look like?
When do you wake up? What do you do? What do you accompmlish? What are those lever-pulling actions that done daily would get you to where you’re going faster?
Why won’t I get what I desire?
Since reading Diary of a CEO, I’ve loved the idea of negative manifestation. This exercise forces you to view your progress objectively and see how you feel about never achieving your goals. This one usually scares me straight.
What good habit(s) do I have right now?
Give yourself some credit. Despite numerous setbacks with business, I’ve worked out nearly every day for the past year. This reminds me that I am a consistent person, I just need to work a little harder to make the business a habit.
What bad habit(s) do I have right now?
Be clear on where you need to improve. Every time I write out my bad habits I realize how easy it is to crush them.
What do I need to do to kill it this week?
You should have a few focus items each week that give you a vision for each day. What inputs this week will get me closer to the outputs I want?
Things I’ve been working on
I started building my dedicated gaming setup last week and I only need a couple more items before its finished. My main 240hz monitor has been a lot of fun to play with, but it’s not what I expected.
Thanks for reading. Kill it this week.
P.S. If you find this letter valuable, share it with a friend :)
